Muay Thai is not a tourist show on Koh Samui — it is the island’s Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night out. At Phetch Buncha Stadium, on the main road in Chaweng, fighters from Thailand and abroad share a card in front of a crowd that shouts, gambles and knows exactly what it is watching.
Eight scheduled bouts, nearly three hours of it. Between them, the ritual that gives the sport its soul: the Wai Khru Ram Muay, the slow dance each fighter performs to salute their teacher and their ancestors before the first bell, carried by the reedy, hypnotic sarama music. Once that stops, the shins start landing.
It is the single easiest way to see something genuinely Thai on an island that spends a lot of energy catering to visitors — and it happens fifteen minutes from most Chaweng hotels.

📅 Fight nights: every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, from 9:00 pm to 11:50 pm. Your ticket is valid for the selected date only, so pick the night you actually want.
🎟️ Seats: two categories — ringside and stadium. Within your category, seating is first-come, and the benches are wooden: bring a folded towel or something to sit on for a three-hour card. Arrive 15 minutes before showtime at the very least.
🚙 Getting there: the stadium is on the main road in Chaweng. Taxis, Grab and scooters all know it. Transfers are not included in the ticket — we can arrange one if you’d rather not drive.
📏 Tickets by height: adult pricing applies above 130 cm; child pricing runs from 0 to 130 cm.
👥 Atmosphere: loud, hot-blooded and completely genuine. The gambling section behind the ropes is half the entertainment — watch the hand signals.

What is the Wai Khru Ram Muay?
It is the dance each fighter performs before the bout, to the sound of the sarama band: a salute to their teacher, their ancestors and the spirit of Muay Thai, and a way of sealing the ring. It is one of the oldest parts of the sport and, for many visitors, the most memorable thing of the evening. Admission to the ceremony is part of your ticket.
Which seat should I pick?
Two categories are sold: ringside seats, right against the canvas, and stadium seats further back with a wider view of the arena. Both are wooden benches rather than padded chairs, so a folded towel or a cushion is a genuinely good idea for a three-hour card.
Is transport to the stadium included?
