Most of what there is to do on Samui is free and outdoors: a beach, a temple, a waterfall, a viewpoint. This page is the short list of places that need a ticket or a reservation — the two Muay Thai stadiums, the elephant sanctuary above Bophut, and the two zipline courses in the interior.
Each one has a rhythm. The stadiums run on fixed nights, the sanctuary caps its morning sessions, and the ziplines close in a thunderstorm. Below, what to expect and when to go.
What is not here matters as much: no elephant riding, no tiger zoo, no monkey show, no buffalo fighting. Samui sells all four and we send nobody to them — the sanctuary above Bophut is the only animal venue on this site.
