Coral Cove is more rock than beach, and that is the point: the coral starts a few metres out, in water shallow enough to see everything without a boat. It is the easiest snorkelling on Samui that does not involve a day trip.
A short flight of steps drops from the road to a scatter of boulders and a strip of coarse sand. At high tide you can swim straight out over the reef; at low tide the entry is awkward and the coral too close to the surface to pass over safely. The cliff restaurants above have the view, and the sunset over the hills behind.
