Lipa Noi is the west coast's swimming beach: flat, shallow, bath-warm water with no waves at all, and the sun going down in front of you. If you have small children and one afternoon, this is the beach.
The sand is pale and fine, the bay is wide and the whole coast faces the mainland, so the water stays glassy in the season when the east coast is choppy. A few resorts and beach restaurants sit along it; the car ferry terminal is at its northern end and does not disturb the swimming.
