Maenam Pier
The small north-coast pier, and the boat that goes straight to Haad Rin on Koh Phangan.
Open≈ 1.2 km
Four kilometres of quiet north-coast sand, the cheapest place on the island to sleep by the water, and Koh Phangan on the horizon.
Maenam is four kilometres of quiet north-coast sand, and the cheapest place on Samui to sleep within sight of the water. Koh Phangan sits on the horizon, close enough to make out its beaches.
The beach is narrower than Chaweng and the sand coarser, but the water is calm and the coconut palms come right down to it. The village behind holds a morning market, a Thursday night market and a pier — the one the Haad Rin boats use. Nothing here is polished, and that is the appeal.
The pier here is where the Haad Rin boats leave from.
