On an ordinary evening it is a dinner destination: tables on the sand, a dozen kitchens, and the lights of Koh Phangan across the water. On Friday the stalls arrive — grilled seafood, pad thai, coconut ice cream, clothes, a stage at one end — and the whole village fills from about five o'clock until late.
Friday from about 5 p.m. Come hungry and eat standing up.
Friday parking is the problem, not the crowd: leave the car on the main road and walk in, or come by songthaew.
